Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Dell Medical School, in partnership with Dell Children's Medical Center, seeks Advanced Practice Nurses for the night shift in the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease. Join a multidisciplinary team delivering world-class pediatric heart care to the regional population.

Responsibilities include patient history, assessment, orders, diagnostics, treatment, counseling, and documentation, with emphasis on collaborative care and ongoing staff

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing.
• Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority from the Texas Board of Nursing.
• Master's degree.
• Experience caring for adults with complex congenital and acquired heart disease.
• Education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment, orders diagnostics and interprets results.
• Provides direct treatment and management of conditions with prescriptive authority or referrals.
• Counsels and educates patients and families about health conditions and options.
• Documents health care delivery and nursing processes per standards and policies.
• Participates in orientation and education of staff and students.
• Other related functions as assigned.
