Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of mechanical systems for commercial and institutional facilities. The role involves coordinating the design team through schematic design and contract documentation, conducting site interactions with project managers, and ensuring code compliance during reviews.

The candidate will review and resolve conflicts across disciplines, write specifications, and assist with contract administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• PE license (PE or P.Eng) is required or in progress.
• Experience in mechanical system design for commercial/institutional buildings is required.
• Proficiency with MS Office and TRACE or equivalent software is expected.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the mechanical design team through schematic design and contract documents.
• Attend reviews with agencies for code compliance and coordinate workload to meet schedules.
• Conduct site work sessions with Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Review documents for conflicts and write/edit mechanical specifications and equipment selections.
• Provide construction contract administration and QA/QC on teammates' work.
