Job summary

HDR in Milwaukee is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design on complex building projects. You will coordinate cross-disciplinary teams, manage client relations, and serve as the mechanical lead through schematic to construction documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• PE license required.
• Minimum 10 years in mechanical system design for commercial/institutional buildings.
• Experience in an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Project and MS Office.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of Mechanical Engineers within a multidiscipline team throughout the project.
• Establish client relations and participate in design/production meetings related to mechanical systems.
• Assume the mechanical lead on projects.
• Participate in code compliance reviews with governing agencies.
• Conduct sessions at project sites for schematic, design development and contract documents.
• Coordinate workload to meet project schedules.
• Track financials and coordinate team efforts to stay within schedule and budget.
• Engage with Project Manager and other disciplines for reviews.
• Perform other duties as needed.
