Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services team in the United States. You will lead mechanical design efforts, coordinate engineers across disciplines, and drive project success from concept through documents.

The role requires a PE license, 10+ years in mechanical systems for commercial or institutional buildings, and proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Project and MS Office. Local candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years in mechanical system design for commercial or institutional buildings.
• Professional Engineer license (PE) recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (PE/P.Eng).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project and AutoCAD.
• Demonstrated leadership and project-management experience.
• Experience with architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firms.
• Commitment to HDR's employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mechanical engineers within the multidisciplinary project team.
• Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design and production meetings.
• Lead the mechanical effort on projects.
• Participate in code compliance reviews with governing agencies.
• Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions on-site with PM and architects.
• Coordinate workload to complete documents on schedule.
• Track project finances and coordinate team efforts to stay on schedule.
• Collaborate with Project Manager, Regional Controller and Regional Director for reviews.
• Perform other duties as needed.
