Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Distribution Engineer with an active PE license to provide technical leadership and QC oversight for electric utility distribution projects. This role supports project QA/QC through design review and construction support activities while ensuring engineering deliverables meet applicable codes, utility standards, and client requirements.

Qualifications

PE license is required for the role.
Degree in Electrical Engineering.
3-5 years of distribution engineering experience in utility, contractor, or consulting environments.
Experience with overhead and underground distribution design packages.

Responsibilities

Quality Control lead/reviewer for electric utility distribution deliverables (designs, plans, BOMs).
Verify QA/QC workflows, constructability, and compliance with client standards and codes.
Perform independent technical reviews of distribution designs (overhead/underground, pole replacements, reconductoring, etc.).
Review staking sheets, drawings, load/calculations, grounding, clearances, and equipment ratings.
Mentor engineers, designers, and drafters; drive design quality improvements and standardization.
