Job summary

Vision Technologies in Laurel, MD seeks an Infrastructure Designer to lead PDS IT infrastructure projects for government and commercial clients. You will design floor plans, cable pathways, rack layouts, and installation specs, coordinating with contracts and field partners while ensuring DoD and industry standards compliance.

Responsibilities include site surveys, design reviews, pre/post construction checks, and collaboration with internal teams to drive efficient, secure network environments

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years' experience designing, planning, implementing, and maintaining high-speed network cabling systems and IT facilities.
• 1–2 years of experience with DoD standards for Protected Distribution Systems (PDS).
• BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) credential.
• Knowledge of telecommunications/electrical/fire codes and ANSI/EIA/TIA, CNSSI, IEEE, NEC/NFPA, OSHA, and BICSI guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess existing PDS conduit pathways for DoD compliance.
• Gather IT infrastructure requirements (pathways, spaces, cable, power, cooling).
• Prepare floor plans, rack elevations, installation specs, SOWs, cost estimates, schedules.
