Job summary

Northrop Grumman's Microelectronics Center in Manhattan Beach seeks a talented Microelectronics Layout & PDK Engineer for the SPF Lab. You will design, test, and integrate PDKs for advanced semiconductor devices, collaborating across interdisciplinary teams on high-impact aerospace and defense programs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a STEM field, CAD/PDK experience, and a programming background, with eligibility for a DoD Secret clearance and US Citizenship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level STEM degree with 2 years of relevant experience (0 years with a Master’s).
• Experience with CAD tools used in semiconductor layout and design.
• Experience with Process Design Kit (PDK) development.
• Has a programming background and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop Process Design Kits (PDKs) across multiple platforms (ADS, AWR, Cadence).
• Support model development and integration into PDKs.
• Create DRC, LVS runsets across multiple platforms (ADS, AWR, Cadence).
• Create scripts and automated flows to improve mask layout and PDK infrastructure.
• Create Mask Layouts using Cadence.
