Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Rolling Meadows, IL, seeks a Principal or Sr. Principal PWB Design Engineer to layout PWBs/PCBs and collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to meet performance and manufacturability requirements.

The role requires Cadence Allegro experience, a STEM degree, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance; this on-site team emphasizes quality, data integrity, and cross-functional collaboration at Rolling Meadows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5+ years' related experience, or Master's with 3+ years, or 9+ years in lieu of degree.
• Drafting and design experience in PCB design for fabrication and PWB layer stack up for CCAs.
• Ability to read drawings and schematics.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Layout of PWBs/PCBs, flex circuits, interconnect routing, and drawing generation.
• Calculate layer stack-up per standards and requirements.
• Create data files for fabrication and manufacturing.
• Interface with electrical and mechanical engineers on placement and fitment.
• Understand impedance, differential pairs, stresses to guide layout.
• Incorporate PWB/PCB change notices and ensure manufacturability.
• Lead design reviews with stakeholders.
