Job summary

St. David’s Medical Center in Austin, part of St. David’s HealthCare, is seeking a PCU Registered Nurse (RN) to assess patients, design and implement care plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

Minimal 1 year RN experience in acute care preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing required; Texas RN license (or Compact with Texas licensure within 90 days); BLS; ACLS within 12 months; NIHSS certification within 90 days. BSN degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing - required
• BSN - preferred
• Current State of Texas RN license or Compact RN license (Compact license must obtain Texas license within 90 days)
• BLS required as per St. David’s Healthcare policy
• ACLS – required within 12 months of hire
• NIHSS certification – required within 90 days of hire
• Minimum of 1 year experience as an RN; acute care setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement a plan of care; revise plan based on patient response
• Consult with interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs and goals
• Administer medications and complete treatments per hospital policy
• Delegate tasks to non-licensed staff per standards of practice
• Provide education to patients and families on care and treatments
• Facilitate discharge plans with care team
