First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking an experienced PCU Registered Nurse for per diem hospital assignments in the Hampton Roads area. Per diem shifts allow you to pick days that fit your schedule, with both day and night options available.

Typical shifts include 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM with competitive hourly pay between $56.25 and $58.00. Per diem positions offer flexible scheduling and the chance to build a fuller hospital schedule across local facilities.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsabilités

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital PCU setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment required for PCU patients.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs.
