Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking an experienced PCU Registered Nurse for per diem hospital shifts in the Hampton Roads area. Choose your schedule, with day and night options, and enjoy flexible per diem pay and hospital opportunities.

Requirements include an active Virginia RN license and 2+ years in PCU, plus BLS and ACLS. Vaccination or approved exemption may be required. Per diem shifts allow you to control your workload and income.

Qualifications

Active Virginia RN license.
Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsibilities

Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment required for PCU patients.
Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines.
Provide patient and family education.
