Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking experienced PCU RNs for per diem hospital shifts across the Hampton Roads area. You can pick shifts that fit your life with options like daily and weekly pay, and the ability to work as little as one shift per month.

Active Virginia RN license and 2+ years PCU experience are required, along with BLS, ACLS, and TB testing within the last year; vaccines or exemptions may be needed. Per diem roles offer competitive pay and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN License.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Current AHA ACLS certification.
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.
• Additional credentials may be required based on facility assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments.
