Job summary

First Choice Nurses is hiring experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts throughout Hampton Roads, Virginia. Take control of your schedule with 7a-7p or 7p-7a shifts, choosing the assignments that fit your life.

You’ll provide high-quality care in acute-care settings, with the scheduling flexibility to work as little as one shift per month. Competitive per diem pay and daily/weekly pay options are available through FCN.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license.
• 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• AHA BLS Current
• AHA ACLS Current
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Following infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting to different hospital units and environments.
