Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. Shifts run 7a-7p and 7p-7a, with freedom to pick the assignments that fit your life.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license is required or in-state licensure transfer.
• BLS and ACLS current certifications.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test completed within past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within past 4 years.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Following infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting to different hospital units and environments.
