Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts around Hampton Roads, Virginia. Shift options include 7a-7p and 7p-7a with the freedom to pick up additional shifts as desired.

As a PCU RN, you will monitor patients, administer medications, document in EMR, and collaborate with care teams, all while adhering to infection-control standards. Per diem flexibility enables a tailored work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license and current BLS/ACLS certifications.
• 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test current (within 12 months).
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments.
