Job summary

First Choice Nurses is hiring experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts across Hampton Roads, Virginia. Earn competitive per diem pay and choose your own schedule, with shifts available 7a-7p and 7p-7a.

You'll need an active Virginia RN license, at least 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience, and current AHA BLS/ACLS. QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past year and COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Active Virginia RN license.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Current AHA ACLS certification.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care within acute-care hospital environments.
• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments.
