Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is hiring experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts throughout Hampton Roads, Virginia. Shifts include 7a-7p and 7p-7a, with the freedom to choose when to work.

You can pick up an occasional shift or build a fuller schedule, with daily and weekly pay options and supportive local staffing. Active Virginia RN license required, 2+ years PCU experience within the last 4 years, and AHA BLS/ACLS current; QuantiFERON-TB Gold, COVID-19 vaccination

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license.
• 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• AHA BLS current.
• AHA ACLS current.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.
• Additional credentials may be required based on facility assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, monitoring, and documenting patient conditions.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and changes in patient status.
• Administering medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Following facility infection-control and patient-safety standards.
• Educating patients and families regarding care and discharge plans.
• Adapting professionally to different hospital units and environments.
