Job summary

First Choice Nurses is seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital shifts in Virginia. You can pick up shifts 7a-7p or 7p-7a with flexible scheduling and daily/weekly pay options.

Competitive per diem pay and local support are available, with opportunities across Hampton Roads hospitals. Active Virginia RN license and 2 years PCU experience are required, along with BLS/ACLS, TB test within 12 months, and COVID-19 vaccination or exemption.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license must be current and in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• AHA BLS certification current.
• AHA ACLS certification current.
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test completed within past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient conditions in PCU settings.
• Document patient status and vital signs accurately.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams to plan discharge.
• Maintain compliant electronic medical records and infection-control standards.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and post-discharge instructions.
• Adapt quickly to different hospital units and environments.

Education

Active Virginia RN license

2 years PCU experience (past 4 years)
