Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Lead RN/Charge Nurse to coordinate patient care on the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at West Hospital. In collaboration with the Clinical Manager, you will guide the nursing team to deliver excellent patient care while maximizing unit efficiency.

You will oversee staffing, mentor staff, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. A BSN is preferred, with current RN licensure and BLS eligibility. Certification in PALS/ACLS/NRP/TNCC/ENPC may be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice or compact license.
• BLS certification preferred upon hire and to be obtained before patient care.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care on a designated unit.
• Oversee staffing and patient assignments to match acuity and resources.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for staff; promote safety and infection control.
• Lead interprofessional collaboration to ensure care coordination and quality outcomes.
