Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Central Resource Team/Float Pool at Elmhurst Hospital in Elmhurst, IL. This full-time position covers a 36-hour week with night shifts from 6:30 pm to 7:00 am, including rotating holidays and weekends.

The role supports RN-led patient care, focusing on patient comfort and safety. Required credentials include CPR/BLS and CNA training or equivalent experience, with a preference for recent hospital PCT exposure.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification required by American Heart Association or BLS.
• Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of patient care experience, or completion of one nursing clinical rotation.
• Recent hospital PCT experience of at least 6 months.
• Completion of the care Companion Course within six months of hire when required.

• Provide patient care tasks and procedures under the directions of an RN to ensure care, comfort and safety.

Position Highlights

• Position: Patient Care Technician - Central Resource Team/Float Pool
• Location: Elmhurst Hospital
• Full Time: 36 hour work week
• Hours: Night Shift: 6:30 pm - 7:00 am (12 hours) Rotating Holidays/Weekends

What You Will Do

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What You Will Need

• Education: N/A
• Certification: Current CPR Certification issues by either American Heart Associates or Basic Life Support
• Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
• Recent hospital PCT experience at least 6 months
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
