Job summary

Endeavor Health invites applications for a Patient Care Technician at Elmhurst Hospital. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performing essential care tasks to support patient comfort and safety.

The role requires CPR certification, nursing assistant training or equivalent experience, and recent hospital PCT exposure. The position is full-time, with a 36-hour week and day shift, including rotating holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required (AHA or BLS).
• Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training program or minimum six months of patient care experience.
• Recent hospital PCT experience preferred, with six months minimum.
• Completion of the Care Companion Course within six months if required by the department.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to follow directions.

• Perform patient care tasks under the direction of a Registered Nurse to ensure comfort and safety of patients.

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Patient Care Technician - Central Resource Team/Float Pool
• Location: Elmhurst Hospital
• Full Time: 36 hour work week
• Hours: Day Shift: 6:30 am - 7:00 pm (12 hours) Rotating Holidays/Weekends

What you will do:

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What you will need:

• Education: N/A
• Certification: Current CPR Certification issues by either American Heart Associates or Basic Life Support
• Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training courseorminimum six monthsof previous patient care experienceorequivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
• Recent hospital PCT experience at least 6 months
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
