Job Summary
The PCBA Production Manager oversees all printed circuit board assembly manufacturing processes, including SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and Through-Hole lines. This role drives production efficiency, maintains strict quality standards, and leads a team of supervisors, engineers, and operators to meet delivery schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Oversight: Manage daily PCBA manufacturing operations to meet volume, cost, and schedule targets.
- Process Optimization: Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and improve cycle times.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure full compliance with IPC-A-610, ISO 9001, and AS9100 quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate production supervisors, technicians, and operators.
- Equipment & Capacity: Coordinate with maintenance to maximize uptime of SMT placement machines, reflow ovens, and wave solder equipment.
- NPI Support: Collaborate with engineering during New Product Introduction to ensure seamless transition to mass production.
- Inventory Control: Partner with supply chain to manage component availability and minimize work-in-progress variances.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) controls and OSHA safety protocols across the factory floor.
- Customer Interface: Interface and meet with customers for build kick offs, and give tours as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Operations Management, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience specifically within a PCBA or electronics manufacturing environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep expertise in SMT processes, reflow profiling, wave soldering, SPI, AOI, and X-ray inspection equipment.
- Certifications: IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certifications are highly preferred. Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt is a strong plus.
- Software: Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Leadership: Proven ability to motivate large teams, resolve conflicts, and manage shift schedules effectively.
Pay: $100,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
