Job summary

Benchmark in Minnesota- Winona is seeking an assembler to read prints, schematics and process sheets and assemble PCBs and related assemblies. You will follow instructions and work with other team members to ensure quality and on-time production.

The role requires a High School Diploma and 1+ year hardware/optics assembly experience, basic math ability, and proficiency with hand tools. You will maintain a clean, safe work area, follow safety rules, and may mentor newer staff as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 1+ years of experience in hardware and/or simple optics assembly type activities
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math
• Ability to use hand tools and associated devices to manufacture PCBs and other electronic assemblies
• Ability to learn and master all tasks associated with PCB assembly that are assigned

Responsibilities

• Reads and follows assembly prints, work instructions, drawings, procedures and specifications used in the manufacturing of PCBs
• Identifies by sight workmanship and material defects in touch-up and assembly areas and may be able to suggest basic changes to the work instructions to improve operations in these areas
• Performs tasks with a high degree of care and attention to details while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Assembles electronic components, assemblies, and modules by working from samples, visual aids, wiring lists and process sheets
• Maintains accurate material control within the work area
• Performs inspection of own work in immediate working unit
• Participates in providing timely feedback to other operations, management and support engineering, as appropriate
• Follows and maintains accurate process documentation
• Assemble PCBs of an intermediate complexity
• May use a variety of tools to perform tasks
• Serve as a mentor to lesser skilled employees
