Job summary

Bench in Winona, MN is seeking a dedicated PCB assembler to join our manufacturing team. You will read assembly prints, follow procedures, and build PCB assemblies with attention to quality and safety.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1+ year experience in hardware assembly or optics, and you will use hand tools to assemble PCBs and related components. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 1+ years in hardware and/or simple optics assembly.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math.
• Ability to use hand tools and devices to manufacture PCBs and other electronic assemblies.
• Ability to learn and master PCB assembly tasks.
• Ability to identify electronic components.
• Ability to identify solder non-conformance and correct them.
• Effective communication, both verbal and written.
• Ability to respond to written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work with chemicals used in PCB manufacturing.
• Able to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to obtain/renew certifications on assigned equipment and cross-train.
• Participate in continuous improvement activity.

Responsibilities

• Reads and follows assembly prints, work instructions, drawings, procedures and specifications used in the manufacturing of PCBs.
• Identifies by sight workmanship and material defects and may suggest basic changes to work instructions.
• Performs tasks with a high degree of care and attention to details while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Assembles electronic components, assemblies, and modules from samples and process sheets.
• Maintains accurate material control within the work area.
• Performs inspection of own work in the unit.
• Provides timely feedback to other operations, management and support engineering as appropriate.
• Follows and maintains accurate process documentation.
• Assemble PCBs of an intermediate complexity.
• May use a variety of tools to perform tasks.
• Serve as a mentor to lesser skilled employees.
