Eligibility & Training

Provide “hands‑on” personal care support to individuals with mental illness and assist with cognitive, physical, emotional and social skill‑building to help them become as independent as possible in the community as they learn to manage and improve their level of functioning.

We will train you in what you need to know to even take on supervisory responsibilities as you gain experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, dressing, cleaning, laundry, shopping, and transportation.
• Support with recreational, educational, or vocational pursuits.
• Administer medications during most positions, which New Vitae provides.
• Support patients in improving independence and skill‑building.

Desired Qualities

The ideal candidate is patient, loves to teach and support learning of others, has an interest in the medical field, works well in a team environment and loves the challenge of problem solving or troubleshooting.
