Job summary

Scripps Health is seeking a casual/per diem PBX Operator at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. You will answer calls, route messages, and support daily operations during evening and night shifts.

Shifts include 7PM–3:30AM, 2PM–10:30PM, and some mid-day hours. Weekend and evening availability is required. Provide accurate documentation and coordinate with physicians, security, and staff as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced front desk or call center.
• Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills.

The PBX Operator answers calls and routine inquiries, routing to intended destination. Appropriately responds to and documents emergency situations, per policy and guidelines. Acts as a part of a team, including training new employees. Pages physicians, security or employees as appropriate via radio, pagers, computer, or over-head PA system. Follows all documentation procedures. Completes additional task such as sorting and mailing messages during downtime, delivering messages to physician offices and completing and distributing daily sheets.
