Job summary

Scripps Health in La Jolla is seeking a PBX Operator for a casual/per diem role. Shifts include 7PM–3:30AM, 2PM–10:30PM and some mid-day shifts; candidates must be able to work weekends and evenings.

You will answer calls, route inquiries, document emergencies, support a team, page physicians and staff via radio or PA, and complete daily sheets and messages.

Job description

This is a casual/per diem position located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. The shifts will be 7PM to 3:30AM, 2PM to 10:30PM and some mid-day shifts. Must be able to work weekends and evenings.

The PBX Operator answers calls and routine inquiries, routing to intended destination. Appropriately responds to and documents emergency situations, per policy and guidelines. Acts as a part of a team, including training new employees. Pages physicians, security or employees as appropriate via radio, pagers, computer, or over-head PA system. Follows all documentation procedures. Completes additional task such as sorting and mailing messages during downtime, delivering messages to physician offices and completing and distributing daily sheets.
