Qualifications

  • Master's degree required in a relevant field.
  • Massachusetts educator license or BCBA certification required/acceptable.
  • Familiarity with PBIS preferred.
  • Experience providing social-emotional-behavioral support to students.
  • Teaching experience in special education or early childhood preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years in a pre-K–12 setting, including urban experience.
  • Knowledge of 603 CMR regulations and policies.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; data-driven and problem solving oriented.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Works under the directions of the Bureau of Pupil Services in collaboration with the special education supervisors.
  • Provides technical assistance and coaching in effective behavior management techniques including PBIS.
  • Designs and helps implement programs to promote pro-social behavior based on systematic analysis of behavior variables.
  • Consults with staff to modify instructional programs based on frequent systematic observation data.
  • Develops and implements intervention strategies to assist teachers in implementing behavioral plans.
  • Assists in developing social/emotional/behavioral curriculum in line with Massachusetts Common Core.
