Job summary

Smurfit Westrock, Mahrt Mill in Cottonton, Alabama, is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to accurately review, edit, and maintain hourly employee time records using Workforce Software (WFS). This role ensures payroll accuracy by validating hours, overtime, and leave requests for about 500 staff.

You will collaborate with supervisors, HR, and employees to resolve discrepancies, run payroll audits, and ensure timely processing while safeguarding confidential data and adhering to labor agreements.

Qualifications

• Experience with timekeeping systems and payroll processing.
• Ability to interpret attendance policies and labor agreements.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and maintain employee time records in Workforce Software (WFS).
• Enter, edit, and correct time transactions (regular hours, overtime, vacation, holidays, leave).
• Monitor and resolve timekeeping exceptions and scheduling discrepancies.
• Ensure time entries comply with policies and labor agreements.
• Review timecards for accuracy before payroll deadlines and obtain approvals.
• Communicate with supervisors regarding missing or inaccurate time records.
• Generate payroll audits and timekeeping reports.
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll data.
• Support questions about WFS timekeeping processes.
• Participate in system testing and upgrades related to timekeeping and payroll.
