Job summary

California State University, Fresno is seeking a Payroll Technician II to manage confidential payroll and personnel transactions across campus, ensuring timely and accurate pay for staff, faculty, and student workers under multiple pay plans.

Under supervision, you will handle promotions, leaves, reclassifications, garnishments, and complex wage withholdings while learning PeopleSoft CMS and PIMS to support the Payroll Services team and coordinate with state agencies.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of payroll methods, policies and procedures.
• Experience with payroll in higher education or similar environment preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and HRIS data management.

Responsibilities

• Process confidential payroll and personnel transactions across units.
• Handle promotions, demotions, appointments, leave and garnishments.
• Learn and use PeopleSoft CMS and PIMS for all payroll activities.
