Job summary

California State Polytechnic University, Pomona is seeking a Payroll Technician II to manage student payroll and related employment transactions. The role requires interpreting CSU policies and bargaining agreements, processing complex payroll activities, and ensuring data accuracy in CHRS and PIMS.

Work is full-time, with a 6-month appointment conducted at Pomona. Anticipated hiring range is $4,037 to $4,457 per month, with a standard Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.
• Equivalent to two years of payroll and personnel experience which has provided the above knowledge and abilities.
• CPP certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the primary payroll resource for assigned employee groups, including management, staff, faculty, lecturers, graduate assistants, student assistants, special consultants, and rehired annuitants, with primary responsibility for administering Student Payroll and related employment transactions.
• Independently performs the full range of moderately complex payroll and personnel transactions requiring interpretation of CSU policies, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable laws.
• Initiates, analyzes, processes, audits, and reconciles payroll and personnel transactions using CHRS and PIMS.
