Peoplease seeks a Payroll Tax Manager to lead our payroll tax operations across federal, state, and local jurisdictions. You will manage filings, payments, notices, and tax account management while driving accuracy and scalability for a large client base.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge, analytical ability, and leadership skills to improve efficiency through technology and coordinate multiple projects within tight timeframes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in payroll tax, tax compliance, or related field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of direct people-management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily payroll tax operations across federal, state, and local jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with requirements and company policies.
• Leverage data analytics, technology, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Lead, coach, and develop team members with ongoing education and growth opportunities.
• Ensure timely preparation, review, filing, and payment of payroll tax returns and deposits (Forms 941, 940, 943, W-2, unemployment returns).
• Improve internal processes to minimize tax exposure, errors, penalties, and compliance risk.
• Identify discrepancies between payroll records, tax systems, and government records; resolve them.
