Job summary

Rise People is seeking a Payroll Support Specialist who can own complex Canadian payroll and tax scenarios and act as the voice of the client inside Rise. You will diagnose issues quickly, document resolutions, and help scale our knowledge base with practical automation ideas.

This is a remote, short-term role offering a 6-month fixed term with potential for long-term growth. You’ll collaborate with clients and internal teams, delivering high-quality, timely support under deadlines.

Qualifications

• PCP certification from the National Payroll Institute is required.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• 2+ years in professional payroll, support, or a role working directly with clients, with real depth in Canadian payroll and tax rules.

Responsibilities

• Own complex payroll and tax issues over email, live chat, and phone, from the first reply through resolution, closure, and the check that the fix held.
• Guide clients through payroll product nuances and best practices, including remote sessions when needed.
• Mentor teammates through complex scenarios and contribute to the knowledge base.
• Use AI to draft, research, and build checks to stay ahead in queues.
• Be an active participant in team learning and improvements to improve client experience.
• Communicate findings to Product and Engineering to fix recurring issues at the source.
