Job summary

AIS Infrastructure seeks a Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processing across our projects, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance. You will handle hours, benefits, and deductions, and provide timely payroll distributions to field and office staff.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in payroll (construction payroll preferred), experience with ADP/Paychex, and strong Excel skills, with a focus on confidentiality and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Experience filing certified payrolls for projects.

Job Summary

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for overseeing the payroll functions and processes within the AIS Infrastructure organization. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Payroll Specialist must possess a strong knowledge of payroll procedures, tax regulations, and labor laws, and adhere to AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and protocols.

• Process and review payroll data, including employee hours, benefits, and deductions.
• Ensure accurate calculation and timely distribution of payroll payments to employees.
• Verify payroll information for accuracy, resolve any discrepancies, and answer payroll-related inquiries.
• Prepare and submit payroll reports, tax filings, and other payroll-related documentation.
• Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor laws to ensure compliance.

Requirements and Education

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing or related field, preferably for a construction company.
• Knowledge and ability to file certified payrolls for our projects.
• Familiarity with payroll software systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, etc.).
• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in processing payroll data.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze data and identify trends or discrepancies.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Customer service-oriented approach.

Preferred Requirements and Education

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with heavy civil construction payroll is preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
• Familiarity and experience with Viewpoint Vista software is a big plus.

Travel

• Occasional travel to project sites, meetings, and conferences as needed, ~5%.
