Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical in Suffolk, VA seeks a Payroll Specialist to manage timekeeping and payroll processing. This role does not qualify for visa sponsorship and requires US work authorization for full-time employment.

The position collaborates with Accounting and Human Resources to ensure timely payroll, accurate documentation, and compliance with policies. HS Diploma with 2+ years payroll experience is required, plus MS Office proficiency and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years related payroll experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, review and written/verbal communication skills
• Proficient in organizational and time management skills
• Ability to travel as needed
• Ability to maintain required documentation for all responsibilities assigned
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles

Responsibilities

• Collects, verifies and reconciles timekeeping records
• Completes processing of information into the payroll/timekeeping software systems
• Assists with day-to-day payroll and record-keeping operations
• Organizes workload to comply with deadlines and priorities
• Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures
• Collaborates with other departments including Accounting and Human Resources
