Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical, located in Suffolk, VA, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage timekeeping records and payroll processing. The role supports day-to-day payroll operations and ensures adherence to company policies.

Qualified candidates will have at least 2 years of payroll experience and strong Excel/Office skills, with excellent attention to detail and communication abilities. Onsite work with occasional travel and background/MVR checks as required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years related payroll experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, review and written/verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Ability to maintain required documentation for all responsibilities assigned.
• Successfully pass pre-employment background check and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Collects, verifies and reconciles timekeeping records.
• Completes processing of information into the payroll/timekeeping software systems.
• Assists with day-to-day payroll and record-keeping operations.
• Organizes workload to comply with deadlines and priorities.
• Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with other departments including Accounting and Human Resources.
