Job summary

InAlliance is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join its in-office accounting and payroll team in Sacramento, CA. You will manage biweekly payroll, reimbursements, deductions, benefits, and payroll adjustments while supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

You will ensure compliance with payroll laws, resolve issues with HR and leadership, and maintain confidential employee records. This role offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2–4 years of payroll processing or payroll/accounting support experience.
• Experience with payroll systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of payroll practices, wage and hour laws, garnishments, payroll taxes, and reconciliations.
• Nonprofit payroll experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process biweekly payroll, mileage, expense reimbursements and adjustments accurately and in a timely manner.
• Review payroll earnings, deductions, and validations before processing.
• Process stipends, pre-onboarding pay, vacation cash outs, and pay increases.
• Prepare and process payroll journal entries and payroll reports; maintain organized payroll records and filing systems.
• Manage information regarding payroll tax activities, garnishments, and related compliance requirements.
• Reconcile medical benefits, deductions, and accrual balances.
• Process MITC payroll, including import reports, payroll exports, sleep exemptions, overtime (OT), and RRP calculations.
