Chenega Corporation is seeking an Accounting Technician- Payroll in Anchorage, AK. You will support full-cycle payroll processing for multiple entities across states while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payments to employees.

Responsibilities include data validation, data entry, reconciliation, and payroll reporting, with a focus on detail, confidentiality, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience in an HR or Finance position such as payroll, collections, accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable or accounts receivable.
• Must be able to articulate Excel experience and provide examples.
• Successfully pass background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Compile and validate payroll data including hours worked, earnings, taxes, deductions, benefits, and union dues.
• Prepare payroll input and enter data into payroll systems for multiple companies and states.
• Review payroll calculations and correct errors to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain employee payroll records, including tax elections, direct deposit, benefits, and garnishments.
• Assist in processing payrolls, including off-cycle and manual payments.
• Support payroll reporting activities including earnings, taxes, and deductions.
• Assist with preparation of payroll liability payments.
• Maintain payroll documentation in accordance with company policies.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Provide support to payroll team members and assist with cross-functional requests.
• Other duties as assigned
