Job summary

Irby Construction Company is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage weekly multi-state payroll for a large workforce. You will collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure payroll integrity, compliance, and timely pay distributions across states.

The role requires 2+ years of payroll experience, proficiency in Excel, and strong attention to detail while maintaining confidentiality within a SOX-compliant environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years of payroll processing experience; multi-state payroll preferred.
• Working knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for ~1,700+ employees across multiple states.
• Import, verify, audit, and adjust timecard and payroll data for accuracy.
• Review and reconcile wages, overtime, PTO, and other pay types per regulations.
• Perform payroll audits and reconcile payroll registers prior to transmission.
• Ensure timely and accurate distribution of employee pay.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee data.
