Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Payroll Specialist III to join our team in a hybrid role based in Arlington, TX. You will manage complex payroll tasks, ensure accurate deductions, and handle executive payroll while coordinating with tax authorities and the General Ledger.

The role requires a minimum of five years of payroll experience, familiarity with PeopleSoft or Oracle Payroll, and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred). CPP certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years payroll experience required.
• Experience with PeopleSoft Payroll desired or Oracle Payroll systems preferred.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and General Ledger impacts.

Responsibilities

• Answers complex payroll inquiries and tracks issue resolution for payroll involving paychecks and direct deposit issues, employee payroll deductions, processing executive payroll, federal/state and local tax related issues.
• Researches and resolves complex payroll issues.
• Manage State and local tax issues including keeping track of out of state workers and jurisdictional requirements.
• Prepares payroll related weekly/monthly/year-end reporting and other necessary payroll related information.
• Works with the General Accounting Department to verify that payroll entries and sub-ledgers are reflected in the General Ledger.
• Special projects as assigned by leadership.

Full Time Days (8:00am-5:00pm) for 40 hrs/week (Hybrid work allowed at manager's discretion)

What You Will Do

• Answers complex customer inquiries and tracks issue resolution for payroll involving paychecks and direct deposit issues, employee payroll deductions, processing executive payroll, federal/state and local tax related issues, etc. 25%
• Researches and resolves complex payroll issues 25%
• Manage State and local tax issues including keeping track of out of state workers and jurisdictional requirements 20%

What You Need

Education

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Req
• Bachelor's Degree BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field Pref

Experience

• 5 Years Payroll experience Req
• Experience with PeopleSoft (PS) Payroll desired but Oracle Payroll systems preferred.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and General Ledger impacts, and experience with payroll implementations, integrations, or process improvements preferred.
