Job summary

AmCheck is seeking a Payroll Processor to manage high-volume payroll processing, ensure accurate submissions, and train clients on online payroll systems. You will support clients with payroll-related inquiries, resolve issues promptly and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

The role requires outstanding attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience processing payroll with high-volume data entry.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local payroll tax withholding and compliance laws.
• Familiar with federal and state garnishment laws and common payroll deductions.
• Excellent customer service attitude and professionalism.
• Ability to work efficiently and with impeccable attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and priorities.
• Intermediate Word, Excel and Outlook skills; strong technical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a high rate of client retention through superior customer service, assisting assigned client base with all components related to payroll processing.
• Responsible for accurate and timely preparation and submission of payrolls submitted via web, email, call-in/out or other methods.
• Trains clients to use web site and on-line payroll system including electronic reports and employee self-service.
• Exhibits understanding of service bureau level payroll processing and related complexities.
• Researches and works with management to resolve client payroll issues in a timely manner.
• Meets strict deadlines and demonstrates initiative and follow through.
• Handles high volume of correspondence by telephone, email and fax.
• Performs other related administrative duties as assigned or needed.
