Job summary

Capital Area Health Network (CAHN) in Richmond, VA is seeking a Payroll Specialist to process biweekly payroll, maintain records, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with Finance and HR to support grant-funded payroll and accurate reporting.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree and at least three years of payroll experience, proficiency with Paycom or similar systems, strong Excel skills, and a meticulous, confidential approach.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience with Paycom or similar payroll systems preferred.
• Healthcare, nonprofit, and payroll accounting experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate and timely biweekly payroll.
• Review timesheets, PTO, overtime, and payroll adjustments.
• Maintain employee payroll records, tax elections, and direct deposits.
• Reconcile payroll reports and general ledger accounts.
• Assist with payroll tax reporting and compliance requirements.
• Support grant-funded payroll allocations and documentation.
• Administer benefit deductions and required wage garnishments.
• Prepare payroll reports and support audits and internal controls.
