Job summary

FALCATA, a Virginia-based defense technology company, seeks an Associate Payroll Accountant to ensure accurate, compliant payroll processing for exempt and non-exempt staff across programs with ADP and Deltek Costpoint.

You will handle semi-monthly payroll, timecard validation, tax compliance, onboarding data, and payroll reporting while maintaining strict confidentiality and supporting internal controls and audits for government-contract work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 0–2 years payroll experience, multi-state environment.
• Experience with ADP and Deltek Costpoint or similar systems.
• Strong Excel and data-analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with semimonthly payroll processing from timecard collection to final payroll.
• Review and validate hours, PTO, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
• Coordinate deadlines with HR, Accounting, and managers.
• Reconcile payroll-related accounts and prepare reports.
• Maintain confidential payroll records and support audits.
