Job summary

Grandview C-4 School District seeks a Payroll Clerk to prepare and process payroll for all district employees at the Grandview Administrative Center in Missouri. This twelve-month, full-time role requires accuracy, timely reporting, and knowledge of school-system accounting.

The position reports to the Assistant Superintendent – Operations and Finance and offers opportunity to maintain payroll records, generate essential reports, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.

Qualifications

• Two years post-secondary education in Accounting or related field.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Experience with Automated Accounting/Payroll Systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with Financial Accounting for Local and State School Systems.
• Such alternatives to above as the Assistant Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable

Responsibilities

• Maintain payroll database, including employee file records, deductions and benefits
• Ensure statutory requirements are met regarding record keeping and withholding
• Prepare and document all staff and district substitute payroll, originating from Automated and Paper Systems
• Process court ordered garnishments
• Implement payroll deductions
• Maintain various records and prepare needed reports associated with payroll/personnel
• Prepare and submit tax deposits, provide payroll payables information to Accounts Payable Clerk
• Respond to employee enquiries regarding their pay or deductions
• Record and track accrued leave
• Maintain sick leave pool balances
• Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Operations and Finance
