Job summary

Detroit Defense is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support payroll processing across Deltek Costpoint and Paylocity. You will serve as the frontline link between systems, ensuring accurate data transfer, timely processing, and reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
• 2–3 years payroll, timekeeping, or clerical accounting experience.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint and Paylocity strongly preferred; willingness to learn both.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and meet payroll deadlines.
• U.S. Citizenship required for Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Review employee timesheets in Deltek Costpoint each pay period for completeness and proper charge codes.
• Follow up with employees and supervisors on missing or unapproved timesheets before payroll deadline.
• Correct timesheet entry errors with an audit trail.
• Assist with labor distribution processing and pre-payroll checks.
• Extract and prepare labor data for import into Paylocity.
• Import payroll data into Paylocity and resolve interface errors before payroll finalization.
• Support semi-monthly/biweekly payroll runs for hourly and salaried staff.
• Reconcile Paylocity output with Costpoint data to ensure agreement.
• Post finalized payroll data back into Costpoint for GL posting.
• Document Costpoint-to-Paylocity processes and escalate discrepancies.
• Assist with manual checks, off-cycle payments, and correction runs.
• Produce payroll and labor reports for accounting teams.
