Job summary

Detroit Defense is seeking a Payroll Clerk to manage payroll processing across Deltek Costpoint and Paylocity. The role demands high-volume, precise data entry, timely validation, and strong confidentiality.

You’ll ensure accurate labor distribution and reconciliation between systems, supporting audits and month-end close. Two to three years of payroll or accounting experience and a bachelor’s degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 2–3 years payroll/timekeeping or clerical accounting experience.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint and/or Paylocity preferred; willingness to learn both systems.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate employee timesheets in Costpoint before labor distribution.
• Follow up on missing or unapproved timesheets prior to payroll deadline.
• Import/export payroll data between Costpoint and Paylocity and reconcile results.
• Support semi-monthly/biweekly payroll runs for hourly and salaried staff.
• Maintain audit trails and document changes for compliance and audits.
