Job summary

The Leona Group is seeking a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate, timely payroll processing for exempt and non-exempt staff across Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. The role emphasizes data integrity, compliance, and collaboration with HR, administrators, and vendors.

Ideal candidates will have payroll experience, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with Paylocity and Google Workspace. This position supports sensitive employee data with strict confidentiality and may involve business-day

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of payroll or related administrative experience.
• Experience with payroll processes and compliance requirements.
• Strong data entry and reconciliation accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Process semi-monthly payroll by reviewing time records, adjustments, and benefit time in the HRIS/payroll system.
• Audit payroll data regularly to ensure accuracy of wages, deductions, coding, and records.
• Generate payroll reports and perform quality controls prior to submission.
• Coordinate leave of absence processing with HR and Benefits to ensure accurate pay and tracking.
• Research, analyze, and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and time reporting.
• Collaborate with HR, school-based staff, and external vendors to ensure timely payroll processing.
