Job summary

Baker Tilly US is seeking a Payroll Support Specialist to provide direct client service and consulting for payroll clients. You will work under supervision to manage client relationships, ensure accurate payroll processing, and support implementation and training on payroll systems.

The role requires knowledge of payroll practices and laws, proficient use of ADP platforms, and strong communication skills to deliver precise, timely services to multiple clients.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree preferred or 2 years experience in lieu of degree
• Associate degree preferred
• Experience with ADP software platforms desirable
• Working knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Highly detail oriented and focused on accuracy
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Strong adaptability and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to effectively work in a deadline driven environment serving multiple clients
• Ability to provide exceptional client service
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; appropriately and professionally communicates with all levels
• Ability to learn new technology and processes quickly

Responsibilities

• Ensure client payroll information is accurate within their payroll system and resolve discrepancies
• Process payrolls promptly, update employee records, calculate bonuses or severance, review tax calculations, and reconcile payroll deposits and withholdings
• Prepare reports of earnings, taxes, deductions, and employer contributions for social security and unemployment
• Establish trusted client relationships by consulting on payroll matters
• Maintain confidentiality of employee data
• Convey detailed information clearly in writing and verbally
• Provide technical software support to clients
• Identify and capture out of scope work
• Identify opportunities to expand services to clients
• Be an additional resource to the implementation team when needed
• Interview clients to understand payroll needs
• Manage new client implementation projects with timely completion
• Train clients on payroll processes as necessary
• Be a resource to new hires and provide honest feedback
• Help build team capabilities and knowledge by sharing insights
• Maintain knowledge of ADP software platforms and local, state, federal payroll laws
