Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a Payroll Consultant to provide direct support and consulting to our payroll clients. Under the supervision of the Payroll Supervisor, you will independently manage client relationships, escalating issues for prompt resolution.

Responsibilities include ensuring accurate payroll data, processing payrolls on deadlines, preparing reports, maintaining confidentiality, and training clients on ADP platforms; opportunities to expand services and collaborate with implementation

Qualifications

• 2-year degree preferred or 2 years experience in lieu of degree.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Experience with ADP software platforms desirable.
• Proficient with Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Highly detail oriented and accuracy focused.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Strong adaptability and multi-tasking abilities.
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment serving multiple clients.
• Excellent client service skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication with all levels.
• Ability to learn new technology quickly.
• Willingness to learn from experiences and share knowledge with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Ensure client payroll information is accurate and resolve discrepancies.
• Process payrolls timely to meet deadlines; update records and tax calculations.
• Prepare reports of earnings, taxes, deductions, and employer contributions.
• Establish trusted client relationships and consult on payroll matters.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee data.
• Convey information clearly in writing and verbally.
• Provide technical software support to clients.
• Identify out-of-scope work and new opportunities to expand services.
• Assist implementation team by understanding payroll needs.
• Manage new client implementations and ensure timely completion.
• Train clients on payroll processes.
• Mentor new hires and share knowledge to build team capabilities.
• Stay current on local, state, and federal payroll practices and laws.
