Job summary

HAC, Inc. in Oklahoma City is seeking an Experienced Part-Time Payroll Specialist to support weekly and bi-weekly payroll operations. You will maintain employee records, ensure timekeeping accuracy, and resolve payroll issues using Paycom for 1,200 employees.

The role requires an Associate’s degree or equivalent, at least 2 years of multi-state payroll experience, and strong Excel skills. You will report to the Payroll Manager within HR Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly payroll using Paycom for ~1,200 employees.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll across multiple states.
  • Maintain employee records and timekeeping accuracy.
  • Collaborate with store management on timekeeping and payroll.
  • Handle off-cycle payments and garnishments where needed.
  • Generate payroll reports for managers and compliance.

The Part-time Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across the organization. This position is responsible for supporting weekly and bi-weekly payroll operation, maintaining accurate employee records, and partnering with management to resolve timekeeping and payroll-related matters.

The Payroll Specialist reports to the Payroll Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Accurately prepare weekly payroll using Paycom for 1,200 employees.
  • Gather, review, and format payroll reports from multiple vendors and systems to maintain accurate employee records.
  • Partner with store management to ensure accurate timekeeping and compliance with applicable contractual and payroll requirements.
  • Handle special payments and off-cycle adjustments, including garnishment.
  • Maintain data quality of Payroll system and collaborate with other departments across the company.
  • Generate payroll reports for Managers to review.
  • Support timely funding of 401k contributions, FSA, and HSA contributions.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager or Director of HR Operations.

Education & Experience
  • Associate’s degree in HR, accounting, business, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of multi-state, multi-employer payroll processing experience.
  • Preferably experience in retail, grocery, or union environments.
  • Proficiency in Paycom is beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA, federal, and state regulations impacting payroll and benefits programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills.
